gBuild completed a major and highly sensitive Window Replacement Project for the University of Delaware’s “Goodstay Conference Center.” The project included removal and replacement of over 100 windows in this Historic Building. Built in the 18th century, this stone mansion is now a complete Conference Center with 1,100 square feet of ballroom and nine rooms accommodating groups of 10 to 80 and houses the Lincoln Collection with over two thousand books and pamphlets, photographs, artwork, sculpture, artifacts, historic documents, and miscellaneous material pertaining to the life and career of Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), the sixteenth President of the United States. Among the most significant items in the collection are copies of the Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment signed by Lincoln.
The window replacement work was performed while the building was occupied and gBuild will implemented an Indoor Air Quality Management Plan during construction which provided complete separation of the construction activities with walk off mats, negative air machines and physical barriers. Additionally, gBuild implemented a Construction Waste Management plan and diverted 75% of the construction waste from the landfill.
