Gbuild is a growing Construction Management firm specializing in supporting commercial clients in the Higher Education, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Corporate markets in the Delaware Valley area. We bring sustainable building practices to all of our projects.
We are currently looking to add a skilled Commercial Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction projects, including higher education facilities, office buildings, and technical facilities. The Commercial Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
Key responsibilities will include:
General Carpentry Work
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install framing, drywall, doors, windows, cabinetry, and millwork.
- Construct and install temporary structures such as scaffolding, barriers, and bracing.
- Perform rough and finish carpentry work, including structural framing, drywall installation, and trim work.
Installation & Construction
- Install commercial doors, windows, hardware, and partitions.
- Build and install casework, shelving, and cabinetry per project specifications.
- Fit and install drywall panels, ensuring proper alignment and finishing.
- Assist with installation of flooring, ceilings, and other architectural elements.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure job site safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and safe use of tools and equipment.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, site superintendents, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
- Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting construction challenges.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Carpenter or similar role in commercial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or apprenticeship preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial carpentry or related field.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
