Employee Highlight – Jason Shrewsbury

GBuild's Jason Shrewsbury

Jason Shrewsbury began working with Gbuild as a trade partner in 2013. After seeing his work ethic and construction knowledge on display, Jason was hired as a Gbuild Project Superintendent 3 years ago where he has excelled in his role since. He began his career in carpentry construction as a teenager by watching and working with his father and grandfather.

“Jason is a vital asset to our team – he has the right demeanor to get the job done and make friends along the way. We are proud to have him represent Gbuild on site.” – Doug Gianforte, President, Gbuild.

For Jason, Gbuild feels like a family – a close knit team, reminiscent of his days learning and working with his own father and grandfather. Jason says he appreciates the open lines of communication among team members and closeness that fosters.

Recently, Jason completed work at University of Delaware’s Morris Library. ‘The Nest’, as the 24/7 lounge & café is now called, was a challenging project that required a lot of work to be done in a small space on a tight deadline. Jason executed this project with the same precision and expertise we have come to expect from him. This project also inspired new ways of doing things – for example, the creation of a ‘Site Orientation Form’ now required by Gbuild to ensure all project team members have written record of site expectations.

Today, Jason is overseeing the Alumni Hall Roof Replacement project and the Smyth Hall Lighting and Fire Alarm project, both at the University of Delaware. The roof replacement at Alumni is the second phase of a two building project that included a new roof on Elliott Hall. Smyth Hall is receiving new lighting, fire alarm, and ceiling across all 5 floors of the building.

After work, Jason enjoys being outside whether he is fishing or helping to run his farm with his wife, Amanda. Jason started farming his property last year and now has 30+ sheep, black angus cattle, and nearly 100 laying hens!
