Procore: Use of Field Tools
Among Procore’s many benefits, the use of real-time labor productivity tools is one of the highlights for us. Gbuild uses Procore – our Construction Management Software – for all our projects. Our Superintendents in the field use a variety of important tools on a daily basis. These tools streamline communication, document the construction process, and keep all relevant parties in the loop in real-time.
Our Superintendents have highlighted a few of the tools available to us as being of particular importance.
Directory – Used to store an unlimited number of project and vendor contacts. In the field, Gbuild team members can quickly and easily make phone calls that are automatically logged for future reference.
Photos – Photos are uploaded to the project page to be stored and accessed by relevant parties. Our field team takes photos throughout the project to document field conditions and attach to any necessary communication such as an RFI.
RFI’s – RFI’s are created, answered, tracked, and distributed within each project. Superintendents are able to use Procore to attach answered RFI’s directly to the drawings that keep communication streamlined and up to date for trade partners.
Submittals – Field Supervisors can track the status and share answered submittals with trade partners. There is no delay in the line of communication between architects, construction manager, and trade partners.
Drawings – Each drawing revision for a particular project is stored in Procore. This allows for accessibility and timely delivery of updates in the field. Our field team can pull up the latest drawings on a phone or tablet at any time.
Daily Logs – Daily Logs are a critical tool for our Superintendents to track manpower logs and make notations of site visitors, deliveries, and even phone calls made on any specific day. If the project scope changes during the course of construction, Daily Logs are extra critical to keep track of work performed.
