Project Highlight – Ursinus College Commons Plaza
The Commons Plaza at Ursinus College is a showstopper. Serving as the welcome center for prospective new students and hub for activity for on campus, this project is a focal point for Ursinus College. After completing two major projects as Owner’s Representative’s (IDC and Commons Building), Gbuild was engaged to manage the construction of the Commons Plaza project.
The old, narrow entry road was replaced with a porous paver plaza that includes room for parking and wide pedestrian walkways along both sides. The entire plaza sits atop a 2 foot deep drainage and infiltration base. This project included a full lighting package – pole lights, lit bollards, and bistro style string lighting that weaves throughout the full length of the plaza. Making the most of the space, car charging stations and additional power sources in the lawn area were installed for use during large events such as graduation.
Gbuild was thrilled for the opportunity to work with both Ursinus College and Bernardon on this exciting project.
